URBA provides leadership for its members and encourages businesses to share their vision for the community in which we live. URBA ensures that the Rutland business community is heard by municipal, provincial and federal governments. We advocate on issues such as landscaping, facilities maintenance, lighting and safety.URBA is also proactive when it comes to finding solutions for: homelessness, vandalism, street-scape, sustainable growth, and community apathy.
URBA'S Events promotions include, monthly Uptown After Hours, Strategic Planning Sessions with community members and other events throughout the year such as the Scarecrow Festival, Golf Tournament, Art Projects and the Christmas Light Up. It is our goal to bring people together in our community.
URBA covers the area surrounding Hwy 33 from Hollywood Road in the west to Prior Road in the east, and from Robson Road East in the south to McIntosh Road in the north.
We are excited about the resurfacing and beautification of Hwy 33 , the new Rutland Transit station and innovative projects moving forward that will focus on streetscaping, art, and an overall theme that focuses on what Rutland has to offer.
